9th Hour Brewing Tap Handles

Dave from 9th Hour Brewing in Lake Villa, Illinois reached out to the Knockout Design team to create custom wooden tap handles for their brand new bar. Owners and previous high school teachers, Dave and Jim, share a common interest in brewing and have won various awards for their craft beers. The community-supported brewery was recently opened in 2022 and offers many styles of beer. The brewery provides a welcoming environment to customers with frequent musical performances and social events. Some of their homemade specialties that will be for sale in the near future include ales, ciders, and lagers. The name 9th Hour was a product of best friends Dave and Jim’s weekly happy hour gatherings with their co-workers during their teaching days. For their brand new taproom, they wanted custom wooden tap handles with their personal logo. Dave also requested a few additional taps to distribute to some local bars and restaurants that serve 9th Hour brews.

The Knockout Designs production team designed and 3D printed the handles that feature a rectangular blackboard insert attached to a custom wooden tap handle. The blackboard addition is useful as the beer names can be updated with ease and frequency. Atop the shaft, the design team attached the 9th Hour logo on the tap handle and used UV LED paint. UV inks reflect light which helps the readability and vibrancy of the handles. The handles display vibrant green and gold foliage and an eye-catching font of the 9th Hour logo. The tap handles are very versatile as they are not specific to any particular beer, but more generally their company. Distribution of these handmade handles to various local establishments helps to give 9th Hour great marketing exposure for their new products.
